Many travellers to Italy dream of buying a house and moving there to live the life of Diane Lane. Well we've gone half way, buying a historic eight bedroom farmhouse in the tiny farming village of Cannara, situated in the shadow of Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis. Only half way, because we haven't moved there (yet).
Our loss is your gain. The villa, la Fattoria del Gelso, is available for rent by the week, Saturday to Saturday, throughout the year. We offer customized tours for groups throughout the year. We also have limited spaces left in the second week (October 27 - November 3) of our Umbrian Food & Wine Tour -- an Italophile's culinary dream vacation -- in 2012. | Primavera at Bella Italia |
Spring is always an exciting time at Bella Italia. As temperatures rise and flowers bloom, our shelves come to life with food, ceramics and other fascinating items from Italy. Next week we will be receiving a big shipment from across the Atlantic, featuring products that you've already come to love -- including ceramics from Geribi, extra virgin olive oil and truffle sauce -- as well as brand new ones like dog leashes, paper products, bags and more.
Spring also means we will be holding fun events at the store. This Saturday, May 19th we will be kicking off the season with an olive oil tasting evening, the Bella Italia way! Join us from 7pm – 9pm as we sample and learn what goes into making a true extra virgin olive oil.
